Entry level Marketing positions
Open positions: videographer, photographer, content creator, graphic designer, content & web designer.
The intern will be exposed to all aspects of The Zarb Store’s marketing and creative operations. They will assist with content development, creative storytelling, and supporting digital campaigns that enhance the store’s visibility. They will observe the collaboration between departments and how marketing contributes to the overall success of the business. They will contribute to the growth of the store’s brand, its presence on campus, and its connection with the Hofstra community. This is a perfect role for anyone looking to explore creative marketing and discover the right career path for them. This internship counts towards 1–3 college credits per semester. At the end of the semester, the intern will become a candidate for a more advanced creative or marketing management position within his/her/their major.
Responsibilities:
● Weekly 90-minute store staffing, including customer service tasks such as attending to customers, maintaining a safe and neat working environment, and using our POS system
● Monthly full staff planning meetings with management interns from Finance, Accounting, Marketing/IB/Legal Studies, Management/Entrepreneurship, IS/BAN
● 1 event support per semester
Requirements:
● For freshmen or sophomores.
● Sample of work required (e.x. course work).
● No prior experience required.
● Marketing, Management, or related major/minor preferred.
● Highly organized and detail-oriented.
● Reliable with strong time management skills.
● Willingness to learn and take initiative.
Retail positions
Open positions: Inventory & Stock control, Merchandise Buyer, Retail Store Manager .
Job description:
Intern will work aside the Retail Manager and assist in their duties. Intern will be exposed to all aspects of retail and general store management. They will help make decisions regarding purchasing, inventory, customer experience and store design. They will help the Retail Manager in their role by reaching out to other interns and reviewing their work, contribute ideas to better
the retail experience of customers, and enhance the store’s reputation through retail means. Intern will be exposed to key factors of retail such as product placement, store aesthetics, customer service, merchandising, and in store experience and advertising. This is a perfect role for anyone who wants to further their skills in retail and learn more about how business departments work together to support customer decisions and purchases. This internship counts towards 1-3 college credits per semester.
Responsibilities:
● Research avenues to enhance in-store experiences to be presented through written documents
● Support the needs and duties of the Retail Manager
● Take care of the store as to ensure optimal customer experience
● Attend to customers needs and questions
● Analyze customer retention to different floor plans, product placement, and merchandise
● Work cross-functionally with other departments
Requirements:
● Any class standing.
● Retail experience required.
● Clear and professional communication skills.
● Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Job description:
The intern will analyze consumer preferences and market trends to support strategic decisions across various marketing and retail functions. They will collaborate with key team members—including the merchandise buyer and marketing analytic intern—to assess high-performing products using Clover (POS) data. Insights will guide merchandising, campaign planning, social media strategies, and overall brand positioning. This internship is ideal for students interested in fashion, consumer behavior, and how data-driven decisions influence marketing and retail performance. It offers hands-on experience in trend analysis, campaign coordination, content development, and strategic planning. This internship counts toward 1–3 college credits per semester.
Requirements:
● For juniors & seniors.
● No prior experience required.
● Required: MKT 101
● Preferred: MKT 141, MKT 140, MKT 144, MKT 145, MKT 146, MKT 149, MKT 175 or MKT 173.
